Yep, I too noticed that and it adds credence to my earlier thought that our exchanges might actually serve to invite more participation rather than lessen the current amount. I guess we are like a rather nasty car wreck; sure, it sickens and offends most, but they stop and talk about it nonetheless. So I guess the evolution goes something like this: Reader, Lurker, Rubbernecker, Poster. Don't call the meat wagon, Ma, look at all my new friends!

....Or the alternate theory is that those that found us too repulsive and left, then missed the carnage and slaughter too much, returned under new nom de plumes.

Having found countless other Grateful Dead forums loaded up with honest to God hippie types, they had to come home from the smothering stench of patchouli oil mixed with the sweet aroma of hashish. Countless threads on the vegan lifestyle, with links to the recipe forum. Do it yourself tips on tie dyeing, threads written from the tops of Oregon Redwoods in danger of being clear cut for timber. Pre-printed forms to send your congressman, telling him you want him to vote for gun control. Charter airplane tickets for sale to the rainforest.

...and the age old, "What's your favorite Dark Star?"

We got it good here. Don't fuck it up.

Mr. Earl said so.

Oh, you mean the one where they give links to detailed discussions on how to raise free-range goats and make clothing from tree bark? Love those.

yeah, its been kinda like that the past four years. but i gotta tell ya people, this has been the tightest 6 months i have ever seen in my time here by far, and this is really really cool. We may have lost a few. But the core is still here. I know a bit of the focus has been on odoc the past day or two, but if the dude can't handle the scene, let him go. Anyone can post what he has with a simple search - nothing but a dilettante - personally i could care less he left - the dude has hated me from the day he joined the forum for whatever reason i have not figure out. i'm gonna shut up now and watch the BCS.....

Touchdown!

Good historical perspective.

And, they score on the kickoff...and then on the opening series...and then...

That was the nickname of my crap-brown '79 Cutlass Cruiser station wagon that transported me and friends to many shows (so dubbed cause of my first name). Ah, fond memories.
